Responsibilities:
- Research, identify, and evaluate potential funding opportunities specifically focused on addressing the needs of homeless youth in Nashua, NH.
- Develop and write compelling grant proposals and applications to secure funding for projects and programs that directly benefit homeless youth.
- Collaborate closely with program managers and staff at Stepping Stones to gather necessary information for grant proposals, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and goals.
- Create detailed budgets and financial reports to accompany grant proposals, demonstrating a clear understanding of program costs and financial sustainability.
- Maintain accurate records of grants, including deadlines, reporting requirements, and outcomes, with a specific emphasis on projects aimed at supporting homeless youth.
- Monitor and track the progress of funded projects to ensure compliance with grant requirements, providing regular updates to stakeholders and addressing any potential issues.
- Write comprehensive progress reports and final reports for funders, highlighting the impact of the funded projects on the lives of homeless youth.
- Create and provide monthly grant updates to the Board of Directors, keeping them informed of the organization's progress in securing funding and the impact of grants on Stepping Stones' initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in grant writing, preferably in a nonprofit setting with a focus on homelessness or youth services.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive proposals tailored to the unique challenges faced by homeless youth in Nashua.
- Knowledge of program development and evaluation principles, particularly in the context of addressing homelessness among youth.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial report writing, showcasing an understanding of the financial aspects of nonprofit organizations.
- Excellent editing and proofreading skills to ensure the highest quality in all grant-related documents.
- Ability to conduct research using databases and other resources to identify relevant funding opportunities for Stepping Stones.
- Proficiency in technical writing and proposal writing techniques, adapting language to resonate with diverse funders.
- Experience in working with HUD grants is a plus, demonstrating an understanding of federal programs aimed at addressing housing and urban development challenges.
- Previous experience in fundraising strategies and donor relations will be highly valued.
