Your Opportunity Stantec’s New England Transportation group has an immediate need for a highly motivated Senior Structural Design Manager with 15 years of bridge design and transportation project delivery experience.

The position is flexible between our Burlington, MA office and hybrid work.
This is an excellent opportunity to pursue and manage progressive engineering projects of varying scale and complexity in Massachusetts and throughout New England.
You will oversee pursuits, technical employees, work planning, technical design management and oversight, project delivery, quality management, contract administration, change management, and risk management.

Your Key Responsibilities Contribute to initiatives to help advance our project design, operations, and business development Maintain and enhance our reputation with clients, approval agencies and industry professionals as an outstanding service provider Establish project objectives, procedures, and performance standards Lead multi-disciplinary teams on projects from positioning to proposals, planning studies, feasibility through final designs, and construction services Represent Stantec and the project design team as a technical leader Identify appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve project objectives.
Manage contract tasks, track, and manage costs and schedule, and implement measures necessary to stay on schedule and within budget.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Lead by example with active support of internal policies and practices, including risk management, project management, and quality management Grow internal and external networks to enhance Stantec reputation and identify additional talent to join our team Develop client relationships to facilitate project activities Establish, maintain, and promote partnerships in project pursuits Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials Experience with the role of deputy design manager, design manager, and or quality manager on mid to large scale projects Experience leading the design and construction support of complex transportation projects Experience developing, negotiating, and managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets Business development experience required Marketing skills required Ability to lead, motivate, mentor, and develop a team of technical and professional staff Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues in a dynamic and energetic environment Design-Build or other alterative project delivery experience Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field.
Post graduate degree preferred MA Licensed Professional Engineer Minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive engineering and project management experience with bridge design and transportation project delivery.
