OVERVIEW The Director, Market Access Payers, will be responsible for achieving and maintaining commercial and government payer access for inline portfolio products.
This position is a player/coach role that includes responsibility for leading Lantheus’ provider-facing market access team to ensure timely and appropriate access to our product portfolio.
The successful candidate will recruit, train, and develop the first Lantheus national payer team to facilitate appropriate coverage and payment across all books of business.
Solid leadership for payer team direct reports as well as collaboration across marketing, sales, finance, and legal will be essential for success.
The individual in this position will be accountable for ensuring the execution of preapproval information exchange (PIE) presentations in preparation for the FDA approval and launch of Lantheus’ first radioligand therapy.
The Director will work closely with the US Market Access team to develop plans of action and educate key internal stakeholders on appropriate channel strategies aligned with brand business objectives.
Monitoring the external environment, customers, and competitors to identify opportunities for Lantheus regarding brand differentiation and access enhancement will be key in this role.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Hands-on leader responsible for providing leadership, direction and oversight of all Commercial and Government payer types across the Lantheus portfolio of products.
This position reports to the Head of Field Market Access.
Responsible for hiring, training, leading, and evaluating field-based market access payer team.
Provides input and customer segment perspective into the development of market access payer strategies for all key brands.
Drives favorable access for Lantheus brands across all relevant payors within approved guidelines.
Devise and execute customer-specific strategies to support appropriate coverage.
Develop, maintain, and execute pre-launch, launch, and post-launch business and account plans; update as changes require.
Participates in the development of national strategies and tactics for field reimbursement support at the account level in collaboration with the Heads of Market Strategy and Field Team.
Meet access goals and ensure medical coverage policies are consistent with the FDA approved prescribing information.
Collaborate with field teams to identify any access barriers and partner with colleagues to mitigate.
Proactively communicate payer criteria and terms to relevant field teams Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Legal, and Compliance to ensure alignment with all deliverables related to access and reimbursement.
Conceptualize and implement customer tools for product billing and coding education.
TYPICAL MINIMUM SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION BS/BA in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
12+ years of biotech/pharma experience with at least 8 years of direct team leader experience.
Demonstrated history of successfully launching new products with oncology products preferred.
Ability to maintain priority accounts while developing direct reports.
Preferred experience in oncology, radiopharmaceuticals, imaging, or diagnostics.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of the US payer market in both the private and public payer space.

Exemplary presentation skills with demonstrated success presenting both to internal and external key stakeholder engagements.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high expectations and accountability for the quality and timing of critical deliverables.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and organize work without continuous direct supervision.
New hires based in the US will be required to demonstrate that they have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or qualify for a medical or religious exemption or accommodation to this vaccination requirement, subject to applicable law.
Field-based, ability to travel a minimum of 50%.
